“Becoming a priest or a man or woman religious is not primarily our own decision…. Rather it is the response to a call and to a call of love.”
Pope Francis
As he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4:18-20)
The call to priesthood or consecrated life is a beautiful one. It is an intimate and intensive way that God involves us in His project of salvation. Discernment can be a long and difficult process, which is why St. Theresa and the Diocese of Orlando offers programs and resources to support individuals discerning priesthood and religious life.
If you or someone you know feels they have a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life please contact Fr. Tom.
